The above barns are all barns that can be seen as one drives on SR 564 in Noble County Ohio. I enjoyed painting them. I do not know the owners. The reference photos for each of them were taken from our car as my husband drove.
This barn sits on the left as one leaves SR78 in Caldwell and enters SR564. I snapped the reference photo as we drove past in the fall and it is part of the SR564 Collection.
This place sits on a hill and the barn is partially hidden. My former art teacher, Judy McKee said she has visited this place and noted that the barn has a unique build. That couldn’t be seen from the road. The whole picture was even more covered with growth but I omitted some of it so we could see part of the buildings and color. The place sits on the left as one goes south on SR564.
I liked the color around this barn. For me it was appealing but I haven’t seen the same response from others. The barn is located on SR 564 Caldwell OH. It is part of the SR 564 Collection
When I first saw this barn and took a picture I didn’t think this would be much of a painting. One never knows. This one is one of my favorites. There is a tractor in the open part. The barn is located on SR 564 Caldwell OH. This is another barn in the SR564 series.
This barn on SR 564 (Frostyville Rd.) was in a setting of some fall colored trees when the reference photo was taken. It is part of a series of paintings from SR 564.
This barn is on SR 564. It was another in a series of barns painted from pics taken on Frostyville Road.
This is the first barn on the right as one starts up SR 564 leaving Caldwell. The address is: Frostyville Rd., Caldwell OH.
This barn is located at Frostyville (SR564) Caldwell OH. It was the last of the old barns that I found on SR 564 in our travels.
This barn received a lot of attention when I posted it on Facebook. I learned that in the past it had belonged to the late Reuben Schafer. The address for this barn is Ripple Run Rd., Caldwell OH. I believe a relative of the late Mr. Schafer purchased this painting. I do not know who lives there now.
This barn on Ripple Run Road belongs to a former student and her husband. When Jodi saw that I was painting barns in her area she wanted to be sure that this barn wasn’t missed. The address is Ripple Run Rd, Caldwell, OH
Ripple Run Road runs off of SR 564 to the east, I believe. As we drove along this barn seemed hidden behind some brush and trees but I was able to get this hot from the road. I believe this barn belongs to a man named Hill. I think it turned out pretty colorful. The address is Ripple Run Road, Caldwell OH. This has been added to my barn collection.
As we were searching for more old barns we drove up Fulda Road in Noble County. This is one barn that captured my attention so a shot was taken from the road. The unusual shape of the roof on the left side of the structure seems to make the barn unique. Perhaps the side facing us may have been a later addition. The address for this barn is Fulda Church Road, Caldwell OH according to the location noted on my phone.
This is another barn that I painted from a picture taken as we traveled County Road 2, Caldwell Ohio. A wreath was added to the barn since the painting was accomplished during the Christmas season.
This barn is located on Salt Run Road, Caldwell OH. The owner is unknown to me. This picture was secured by driving past in a moving car and taking a picture with my iPhone. When painting it, it was the Christmas season so for a little interest, the wreath was added. What I liked about this barn is the uniqueness of the opening on the left bottom. Of all the barns I paint or have photographed, I have yet to find two that are exactly the same. This painting now has a new owner.
The reference picture for this painting was taken one day as we were driving towards Barnesville. Preserving old barns by painting them is a favorite pastime for me. I do not know the owner of this barn or any stories connected. I was just happy with the resulting painting.
This is the barn on the Mendenhall Farm on SR 147 (Seneca Lake Road) in Noble County OH. It was given to their daughter.
This barn sits on SR 147 (Seneca Lake Rd.) in Seneca Twp. Noble County. The farm was known as the Carter Farm. It is close to Shenandoah High School.
Some ten years ago this barn stood along SR 146 on the road to Zanesville from our home near Belle Valley. Since we travel this road quite often for doctor appointments, shopping or other business, several opportunities arise to take reference photos for future use in painting. At the time of this shot taken from a moving car, the barn was standing and appeared to be usable. Recently, however, the barn is leaning and about to fall to the ground as evidenced by our latest trip past it. In a stack of old paintings from the basement art room this picture was retrieved and given a “redo”.There is something sad about a falling old barn. So happy a picture of this one is available.
